A Day at the Farm

This morning Owen and I went to Peden Farm Festival. The Pedan Family open up their farm in the fall to allow hundreds of local children to see, touch, taste, smell, and experience life on a family farm(for free!). It is amazing. The kids get to see and touch all the animals. In the barn they were churning homemade butter and spreading it on crackers for sampling. Owen loved it! He wasn't too sure about the apple cider but did drink the whole sample. He was able to pet a donkey, pony, rabbits, goats, baby pigs. We also saw turkeys, ducks, roosters. We took a hayride around the farm and the view was amazing. We could see out over the hills full of colorful trees! All of this is literally in our backyard from our house. The farm is about 3 minutes from our house. We live in such a beautiful area.

They had fire trucks and Smokey the Bear, a blacksmith, wool spinning, and much more that we didn't even have time to see because Owen was worn out from all the fun. I can't wait to go back next year and I think we will take daddy with us next time!
